The gravel bike, mountain bike cycling event Race to the Sun has been organized yearly in South Africa, province North West. The last edition of Race to the Sun took place on Saturday 17 May 2025 and the next edition of the race, XCM marathon hasn’t been announced yet.

Organizer: The Race to the Sun is a premier point-to-point gravel race that takes you on a thrilling journey from the iconic Hartbeespoort Dam to Sun City Resort, riding through vibrant sunflower fields, serene canals, and vast gravel roads.

With a choice of riding 100 or 50 miles through the diverse landscapes of the North West Province, this flat and fast journey offers an exhilarating experience for cyclists of all levels.
