The mountain bike cycling event Simpson Desert Bike Challenge has been organized yearly since 1987 in Australia, state South Australia. The last edition of Simpson Desert Bike Challenge took place on Tuesday 01 October 2024 and the next edition of the stage race will take place on Tuesday 30 September 2025 in Oodnadatta, South Australia

Organizer: Simpson Desert Bike Challenge (SDBC) is a 5-day MTB event covering 300km or 500km. Each race day has two stages – approximately 80km morning and a 50km afternoon stage. Riders have the option to compete solo or in a relay team. Riders are required to bring a dedicated support crew or they have the option to join a support crew.

The course traverses some 700 sand dunes, salt lakes, vast cattle stations and gibber plains. Riders and crews will experience all the diversity of this rugged and beautiful desert.
