Balatonfondo edition 2024

Balatonfondo 2024 was road bike cycling event category gran fondo in Hungary, region Central Transdanubia limited to 3000 participants and was organized for the first time in 2023. The edition Balatonfondo 2024 took place on Saturday 14 September 2024 with departure in Balatonfüred, megye Veszprém, Central Transdanubia.

Organizer: Ride on the route of the 2022 Giro d’Italia!

Balatonfondo road cycling granfondo is created to commemorate the Big Start of the Giro d’Italia 2022 in Hungary. Participants can ride on the same roads as used for the second stage of the Giro, won by Mark Cavendish in Balatonfüred.Road will be fully closed from the traffic!

The first Balatonfondo will held on 01.05.2023, starting from the capital of the Lake Balaton, Balatonfüred. The distance is 140 km, with 1.500 m elevation through the picturesque landscape of the Balaton Uplands National Park.
