The road bike cycling event Balatonfondo has been organized yearly since 2023 in Hungary, region Central Transdanubia. The next edition of the gran fondo will take place on Monday 01 May 2023 in Balatonfüred, Central Transdanubia

Organizer: Ride on the route of the 2022 Giro d’Italia!

Balatonfondo road cycling granfondo is created to commemorate the Big Start of the Giro d’Italia 2022 in Hungary. Participants can ride on the same roads as used for the second stage of the Giro, won by Mark Cavendish in Balatonfüred.Road will be fully closed from the traffic!

The first Balatonfondo will held on 01.05.2023, starting from the capital of the Lake Balaton, Balatonfüred. The distance is 140 km, with 1.500 m elevation through the picturesque landscape of the Balaton Uplands National Park.

The first Balatonfondo including the Mediofondo, will held on 01.05.2023, starting from the capital of the Lake Balaton, Balatonfüred. The distance is 70 km, with 800 m elevation through the picturesque landscape of the Balaton Uplands National Park.
