The Saimaa Cycle Tour, whose main event is the eponymous cyclosportive Saimaa Cycle Tour covering a challenging distance of no less than 300 km, is one of the biggest cyclosportive events in Finland. Participants not only cycle through the world's most beautiful lake landscapes but are also almost accompanied by a constant sunset.
The Saimaa Cycle Tour was first organised in 2021 and welcomed +3,000 participants in 2024. The next edition of the Saimaa Cycle Tour will offer 2 shorter distances for road cyclists in addition to the usual 300 km cyclo (starting on Friday evening 11 July).
For 2025, Finnish organisers include an expansion of the event with a 150 km gravel edition during the same weekend. And the daredevils can even opt to take part in the gravel ride on Sunday after completing the 300 km tour.
The Saimaa Gravel Tour takes place in the heart of Finnish Lakeland (including Lake Saimaa as the area's largest lake) and is designed to also explore the unpaved roads and trails that criss-cross the region.
