Salento Trail 2024 was gravel bike, mountain bike cycling event category bikepacking in Italy, region Apulia and was organized for the first time in 2023. The edition Salento Trail 2024 took place on Friday 21 June 2024 with departure in Muro Leccese, provincia Lecce, Apulia.

Salento Trail is offering 3 routes (350, 250, 160 km) for gravel bike, mountain bike

Organizer: The Salento Trail is an indispensable bikepacking experience with a marvellous, mixed, dirt-asphalt route that leads you from San Cassiano to the sea, the Adriatic sea, the one north of Otranto, the one with the sandy coastline, to be precise. It does so by passing inland through the Salento countryside, crossing the signs left by a millenary history of peoples who have lived in these lands since the Neolithic age. As you pedal, you will touch Menhirs and Dolmens from an age to which they are the only witnesses and cross unmistakable signs left by vanished civilisations (Messapi), then you will pedal along roads carved by the wheels of horse-drawn carts as far back as the Roman period, and then medieval farmhouses and villages and fortified masserie and forests from before the days of agriculture.
