June 1, 2024 at Cardinal Elementary in Brownsburg! This is a NEW venue in 2024. The 32nd Annual B&O Bicycle Tour will showcase portions of the B&O Trail including our newest section, Virgil Park as well as scenic countryside. You may choose from 11-, 17-, 25-, 45- and 62-mile loops. After the ride, stick around for lunch and some live music.

WHERE ~ Cardinal Elementary, 3590 S Hornaday Rd, Brownsburg, IN 46112.

START TIME ~ Sign-in begins at 7:30 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2024. No mass start of riders is planned. All riders may depart once they have completed their check-in, prepped their bikes and donned a helmet! Please note that our event is rain or shine. No refunds are given due to the weather.

WHAT’S FOR LUNCH ~ Listen to live music as you enjoy a fantastic lunch catered by Smokin' J's Barbecue immediately after the ride. Once again this year, there will be a vegetarian option available! Thank you to Aqua Systems for donating water, Piazza Produce for the fruit, and Eby-Brown for the snacks at the SAG stops.

SEE YOURSELF ON INSTAGRAM ~ During the ride, take pictures and post them on Instagram using #bobikeride. We hope to show pictures on a continuous loop throughout the day back at the starting venue. You can enjoy them as you eat lunch and listen to the music.

ENTRY FEES ~ Winter discounts on registration fees are in effect through April 1st. Spring discounts are then in effect through May 1st. Winter discounts are a full $10 off of the normal registration rates and spring discounts are $5 off. As always, children 12 and under ride for free with lunch included! A lunch-only fee is available for non-riders for just $10. The regular fee for adults starts at $35 and then goes to $40 on April 1st and then $45 on May 1st. The regular fee for young adults (13-18 years old) starts at $25 and then goes to $30 on April 1st and then $35 on May 1st. Please note that same day registration fees will be higher. Save money by registering on-line on or before May 30th by 9:00 PM!

DONATIONS ~ Consider giving a donation to the B&O Trail in addition to your ride entry fee or optionally cover the extra cost for the credit card processing fee. We are actively working to extend the trail to the east into Marion County in 2024. Local funds raised from generous folks like you enable this expansion along with ongoing trail maintenance. BOTA is an IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so your donations are tax deductible.

T-SHIRTS ~ Souvenir t-shirts are available to pre-registered riders for an extra cost. Scroll down to see what this year's graphic logo looks like. This year's shirt color is planned to be Navy Blue (subject to availability). The ability to purchase a t-shirt online will end at midnight on Sunday, May 26th. A very limited number of shirts will be available for purchase the day of the ride.

SPECIAL FEATURES OF RIDE ~ SAG vehicles will be roving the routes to assist with minor mechanical problems or fatigue. Routes are marked on the roads, but route maps are provided as a backup. Mechanics from Bicycle Garage Indy (BGI) will be on hand to answer mechanical questions and assist riders with pre-ride inspections. The first 300 riders to check-in will receive a souvenir water bottle. Riders will enjoy live music as they eat lunch from Smokin' J's Barbecue (10:30 AM to 3:00 PM). Lunch is included with your registration.

ROUTE DESCRIPTIONS

Click the RESPECTIVE (MAP) links below to access the "Ride With GPS" planned route maps once they are available. Please note that these routes are subject to change at the time of the event due to unforeseen road closures or other safety concerns.

11 miles — Ideal for beginning cyclists and families: an easy-going, flat ride; you will ride entirely on the B&O Trail. After turning around at CR 250E (trail terminus), you return via the same route. There is a refreshment stop at the Tilden trailhead about 1/3 and 2/3 of the way through the ride.

17 miles — For those who prefer to stay on the trail but pick up a few more miles than the 11 miler. You will see the entire length of the B&O Trail. Same as the 11 miler but when you return to Cardinal Park, you continue on the trail to Raceway Road and back. You will pass the refreshment stop at the Tilden trailhead twice.

25 miles — You will ride 5 miles west on the B&O Trail. You will then ride on picturesque country roads to the SAG stop at Maplewood where you can enjoy refreshments and live music on both the outgoing and return trips. You will finish your ride by taking the B&O Trail from the CR500E trailhead back to Cardinal Elementary where you will enjoy lunch and more live music.

45 miles — This route starts out the same as the 25-miler. After leaving the Maplewood SAG stop, continue west through scenic farmland and a couple of moderate hills to the SAG stop at McCloud Park. Your loop takes you through the town of North Salem for another SAG stop and back to the Maplewood SAG for a 2nd visit. Finally, you enter the B&O Trail at the CR500E trailhead and return to Cardinal Elementary for lunch and live music.

62 miles — This route starts out the same as the 25 and 45 milers. After leaving the Maplewood SAG stop, continue west through scenic farmland to the SAG stop McCloud Park and then on rolling hills into Putnam County for a SAG stop in Roachdale. Roachdale was the next stop on the B&O Railroad going west from North Salem. After leaving Roachdale, you make a brief excursion into Montgomery Co and return to North Salem where you will find another SAG stop followed by a second visit to the Maplewood SAG stop. Finally, you enter the B&O Trail at the CR500E trailhead and return to Cardinal Elementary for lunch and live music. No shortage of food with a whopping 5 SAG stops. Don’t spoil your lunch!

PARKING ~ Ample parking will be available at Cardinal Elementary School. Overflow parking is at the Middle School, just north of Cardinal Elementary. As always, watch for signs and parking attendants with safety vests.
