De editie Gran Fondo World Tour Mexico 2023 maakt deel uit van het circuit Gran Fondo World Tour en vond plaats op zondag 23 april 2023 met startplaats in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo.

For the first time a Gran Fondo World Tour event arrives in Mexico and Latin America. Gran Fondo World Tour Mexico will take place on April 23rd, 2023 at the beautiful Playa del Carmen Beach and Tourist Resort. With a 100 kms Medio Fondo and a 160 Kms Gran Fondo route through the coast and jungle of the Yucatan Peninsula.
The race which will be part of the Gran Fondo World Tour points system will Start in the heart of Playa del Carmen main beach and ride north to the town of Puerto Morelos before taking a left into the Mexican Jungle and worldwide known Cenotes route. Once they hit the heart of the Yucatan Peninsula in the town San Martiniano there will be a U turn to return to Puerto Morelos where the Half Fondo will finish and the Gran Fondo competitors will continue back to Playa del Carmen.
This is the first race in Mexico and Latin America, the organizers have put a great team with experience putting other gran fondo races in the area and we expect a good turnout. Pricing for the Gran Fondo is $160.00 USD (equivalent in Mexican pesos) and the Half Fondo is $120.00 USD. Participants will receive a kit with sponsors goodies and also a Jersey (Jersey requires registration before April 7 to be available) Official Jersey will also be available for sale for $29.00 USD at the start of the race.
Parallel to the race there will be a family 10km race and concert at the starting plaza for family members to participate, cost to subscribe is $15 USD and kids under 10 years old are free, they will also get a little bag of goodies. At the end of the race there will be a podium and medals will be awarded, some winners will get some gift products from sponsors.

Spring is a great time to visit Playa del Carmen, flights into Cancun are cheap during this low season and plentiful routes from all parts from the world. If you have never been in Mexico this is a good time, our Host Hotels (Paradisus Resorts) Melia, have great promotions by emailing the word GRANFONDO to: reservaciones.paradisus.playadelcarmen@melia.com there is also many Hotels around the area. The Start point will be Parque Fundadores by the beach and port and race will start at 7:00AM Sunday April 23rd 2023. To pick up kits and registration on Saturday, place and time will be announced on April 15th. Registration Deadline is April 20th and can be done through internet at our official website.
