Extra Brut Border Bash 2023 was gravel bike evenement categorie toertocht in België, Vlaanderen beperkt tot 100 deelnemers en werd voor de eerste keer georganiseerd in 2023. De editie Extra Brut Border Bash 2023 vond plaats op vrijdag 22 september 2023 met startplaats in Turnhout, provincie Antwerpen, Vlaanderen.

Organisator: Campina Extra Brut is proud to present the Extra Brut Border Bash. Get your gravel bike (or MTB) out, and join us on Saturday September 23rd for a fancy gravel ride (55km, 65km, 75km, 95km, 120km or 135 km) through the glorious border region North of Turnhout. And if one main ride is not enough to get your gravel heart pumping, we’re throwing in a 40 km social (group) ride on Friday and a 70 km coffee ride with a group start on Sunday. That’s right, we’re going to pull a full weekender for those that have the legs!
The social ride on Friday 22nd
As we put the final hand on the preparations for the big ride on Saturday, our ride leaders will take you out for a social ride (+/- 40 km) at a party pace. We’ll make sure to get you to the camp site in time for the *optional pasta dinner. First drink upon return to base camp is on us. Want to ride this loop on your own or with your inner circle of cycling buddies? That’s also an option, we don’t judge! We’ll even throw in additional 10 km if that’s the thrill you’re after! Keep in mind however that the cafeteria on the campsite closes at 10 pm so if you are craving some pasta, you better make sure to make it back around 9!

The Main Event on Saturday 23rd
The Saturday Gravel Ride is the one we’ve been thinking about organizing for years now. With different distances you can choose from, (55km – 65km – 75 km – 95 km 120 km and 140 km) we hope to cater to everyone’s abilities. Prepare to grit and grind across beautiful woods and fields and enjoy the breathtaking Campina area. Get those tires pumped to your desired psi, get that chain lubed, and make sure your spirit is set to rock ‘n roll! And remember... you might encounter the odd sandy patch, after all, this is ‘De Kempen’.
Here's a quick breakdown of the different distances:
The 55km, 65km, 75km or 95km routes all have a feed stop after +/- 30km to 45 km’s (depending of the route of your choice) in order for you to refuel for the leftover kilometers. A complimentary finisher beer is your reward for tackling the route of your choice!
The 120km or 140km routes will have two feed stops. The first one after 45 km’s, the second one after 75 km / 95 km depending on the chosen distance. After riding the big boy ‘n girl routes, if anybody deserves a finisher beer, it’s obviously you!

The Coffee Ride on Sunday 24th
Nothing beats a good coffee ride, especially the day after a long ride (and possibly a short night)! Since there’s also a triathlon being held on the 24th of September, we’ll have an early group start (somewhere between 8 and 9 in the morning) so our trusty ride leaders can guide you past the Tri parcours, after which you are free to ride at you own, pace. This 70 km coffee ride stops mid-way at Café Fringale in Zoersel where a damn good coffee (or a soda) and a little something to munch is offered!
