Founded by Tim Esser, the event attracts up to 10,000 cyclists from 46 different states, offering a variety of ride distances, typically ranging from 7 to 102 miles. Cyclists of all skill levels participate, enjoying scenic routes through Palm Springs and the surrounding desert landscapes, with stunning views of mountains, wind farms, and open desert.

Known for its strong community spirit, the Tour de Palm Springs raises significant funds for local charities, supported by thousands of volunteers each year.
